The new biome feels empty, so I have an idea that could be a game-changer: saltpeter, the new "mineral" of the sulfur caves. Saltpeter is a mineral with an appearance that matches the caves, and not only that, but it also has real properties that would be perfect for the game.
Why add this?
For years, players have sought a way to create gunpowder, and due to the chemical composition of saltpeter (primarily KNO₃), it was one of the main ingredients for gunpowder manufacturing in the late 19th century.
How does this help in the game?
It would bring the ability to craft gunpowder (charcoal + saltpeter + something like blaze powder to give it a special touch = 1 or 2 gunpowder).
But not only that, saltpeter also has fertilizing properties, acting like bone meal, but if you combine them, you could create a new fertilizer that makes crops grow instantly.
How would it be generated?
It could be generated in the space between the sulfur caves and the surface, like mineral veins, but leaving a trace in the caves (small traces of the mineral on the ceilings).
I don't know what else to add, but I hope this idea can make a difference. I've been playing Minecraft for almost 14 years, and I've always wanted to contribute an idea that would help the game.
