In Java Edition, players can swing/hit the air freely without needing to target a block or entity. This small feature is actually very useful during gameplay, especially for communication and movement guidance in multiplayer.
For example, players often use air swings to:
Point at directions or locations
Guide new players
Communicate silently
Make PvP/Parkour movement feel more responsive
Improve overall combat and gameplay feedback
In Bedrock Edition (especially MCPE), swinging only works when targeting a block or entity, which makes the game feel limited compared to Java.
A good solution would be adding a toggle in Settings, such as: “Enable Air Swing” When enabled, players could swing their hand/item freely even while looking at the sky or empty space.
This would improve parity between Java and Bedrock while also helping mobile players communicate and play more naturally. It should be optional so players who prefer the current behavior can keep it disabled.
