Some people have expressed interest in being able to feed sulfur cubes different dyes in order to change their appearance to blend in better with the blocks they contain, since the current pale yellow color does not work well with most blocks. I believe this concept of feeding items to Sulfur Cubes to change their appearance can work well with a few other items as well:
- Glow Ink Sacs: Feeding a glow inc sac to a sulfur cube could let it glow in the dark the same way that it can make signs and item frames glow in the dark. This could allow sulfur cubes to be used in areas with darker lighting and could allow for some potential decoration when used as lights in these environments.
- Fermented Spider Eye: Many people have been using invisible sulfur cubes with blocks inside as decoration, and is one of the most creative ways the sulfur cube has been used in builds. That said, there's no practical way to replicate this in survival, since it would be nearly impossible to continuously produce invisibility potions to refresh the effect on the sulfur cubes you wish to modify. I suppose creating an exception for the sulfur cube, where feeding it the potion ingredient for the invisibility potion will allow it to stay permanently invisible (until the effect is removed through feeding it Milk.) That way the invisibility effect can allow it to be used in survival builds. The sulfur cube would likely have a more transparent appearance when not filled with a block while under the effect.
