Xbox Family Settings prevent safe use of paid Minecraft Realms subscriptions. Please work with Microsoft to add parental controls that hide the Servers/Discover tab while allowing LAN and Realms access.
Current Problem: Xbox's "You can join multiplayer games" setting is all-or-nothing. Enabled = children can access the Servers/Discover tab showing public servers with strangers. Disabled = they cannot access paid Realms OR play on home LAN.
My Situation: I pay $3.99/month for Minecraft Realms so my children (ages 7 and 9) can play together safely. However:
- If I enable multiplayer, the Servers/Discover tab lets them join public servers (The Hive, Mineplex) with unmoderated strangers
- If I disable multiplayer for safety, they cannot access our paid Realm
- I'm paying Minecraft for a service I cannot safely use
Requested Feature: Work with Microsoft to add Xbox Family Settings option: "Hide Servers/Discover tab" (removes public server discovery entirely while keeping Friends, Realms, and LAN tabs visible)
OR toggles for: ✓ LAN / ✓ Realms / ✓ Friends / ✗ Servers/Discover tab
Business Impact: This affects Realms subscription revenue. Parents cannot justify $48/year for a service that requires exposing young children to public servers via the Discover tab. Many families likely avoid Realms subscriptions entirely due to this limitation.
Hiding the Servers tab for child accounts would enable safe family gaming and support Realms growth.
