Salamanders would be a repurposed axolotl, recolored and put into swamps. They would function differently from regular axolotl, losing its ability to regenerate, and attack. It would become a pure ambient mob in the swamps. It would be poisonous to eat, but be skiddish and run from the player and other predators. This could prey on fish, and walk on land like its cave counterpart. It could receive slight model change. This would likely remove the frills on its heads but could also receive change to the body. This combined with a brown back, and creamy underbelly would distinguish a salamander from a axolotl. The swamps are devoid of aquatic life, not even having fish in its waters. Frogs and fireflies are not enough for the biome. This shouldn't be too much work, as the axolotl would be its base. A little retexturing, and code rewriting and we could have a new ambient mob.
