Multiplayer issue

I have the most recent update for mojang and I have a issue with the multiplayer. It's showing me an error code when I tried to play with her and it reads the host server you are trying to join is using an older version of Minecraft which is impossible I just updated it 3 days ago and we'd played together all the time
