I feel like this one is a go-big-or-go-home idea.
Upon beating the Ender Dragon, you get one and only one dragon egg, never again upon defeating the Ender Dragon subsequently. Right now, it just… sits there. The rarest item in the game. What if the egg could be hatched under specific conditions, contingent upon which dimension it was hatched in, and the result was a mini-dragon that had taken on powers and properties corresponding to that dimension, and perhaps passed them on to the player in a minor way? Perhaps a 10% reduction in fire damage, or the ability to ward off shulker projectiles with varying success, or an ability to see ores more clearly in the overworld. It would follow the player around, and teleport to their location if lost or the player died and respawned, so that it could never be lost. Like an Enderman, it would teleport out of the path of harmful projectiles. As the player levels up, so does the dragon, and the ability becomes stronger, reaching a maximum after a point. If it dies, it turns into an egg again, its level resets to 0, and the hatching process must then be repeated.
