Instead of dropping an item when killed, the warden should give the player a prize for surviving a warden attack. For example, running around in the deep dark avoiding the warden but staying near until it borrows could trigger some kind of positive event or give the player an exclusive item. I think it would encourage the player to go to the deep dark more often than to just pop by once, scavenge through a few chests and never go back.
