New copper wire and expansion of redstone

Copper is an abundant resource and doesn't have a ton of uses besides for decoration. Sure you can make copper bars and lamps (which somehow I didn't know until recently, and as of me writing this I am somehow learning of a lot of other things I didn't know you could make with copper), and you can make copper tools. But I feel like it should have a more electric related purpose because copper is commonly used in real life for wires

Which leads me to the fact that I'm proposing the Copper Wire™

It would be made from 3 copper ingots across the crafting menu, which to my knowledge isn't already a recipe. It could be made into 3 different thicknesses to improve how far the signal could reach. It would basically be the same as redstone dust but it would be much easier to get without a farm. I was also thinking there would be another block similar to the redstone repeater that would strengthen the signal once it weakens, this too would obviously be made out of copper.

Now you must be thinking "what's the use for redstone at that point?" We will expand it. I'm not exactly sure what it will be able to do but I think there are definitely ideas out there that people would love to be added. Copper Wires™ will be added for easier redstone earlier on, and redstone itself will be expanded to make sure it does not become obsolete.

Let me know what you all think of this. This idea randomly came to me today so I'm not sure if it's any good. That's for you to decide.
