Hey everyone.
Currently, Toolsmith, Armorer, and Weaponsmith villagers only accept regular Coal in their first-tier trades for Emeralds. But Charcoal exists in the game and serves the same purpose.
It doesn't feel logical for blacksmiths to ignore charcoal, especially since in real-life blacksmithing, charcoal was historically the primary fuel.
My suggestion: allow these villagers to accept both Coal and Charcoal for the same trade (e.g., 15 Coal OR 15 Charcoal for 1 Emerald).
Why this would be good:
-
Logic: Charcoal is made from wood — a renewable resource.
-
New possibilities: Currently, only the Fletcher gives emeralds from wood (sticks). Adding charcoal would create another renewable source, useful for superflat worlds, skyblock, or early game.
-
Balance: Charcoal requires smelting logs, so it's not overpowered compared to mining coal.
Apologies if this has been suggested before — it may have been forgotten. I just wanted to bring it up again.
