Touchscreen mode should be more like Bedrock Edition's touch controls, with Bedrock's Pocket UI for GUIs.

I think it would be nice if Touchscreen Mode gets reimplemented in a way where people are able to play the game with Touch Devices just like in Bedrock because at the current state of Touchscreen Mode on Java is that you can only use it on Inventory and nothing else (Based from my experience).

I've used all the Android MCJava launchers over time: "Boardwalk", "PojavLauncher" and "Angel Aura Amethyst". I'm pretty sure none of them ever required touchscreen mode, the newest one definitely doesn't. The wiki even redirects from "Touchscreen mode" to "Pocket edition". I've not heard of anyone who used ever it. So from my perspective, it seems fine to remove it.

Removing it from Java edition is a good decision, as touchscreen devices haven't been successful on desktop computers for gaming. In my opinion, this mode should be replaced with controller mode/support, since controllers are used by many PC gamers (Windows, Linux and Mac), and would be great to have native support!

I didn't even know it existed and I've been playing Minecraft for almost 15 years, but several times I've found the controller support missing, which is a thousand times more useful than the touch.

In fact, the touchscreen mode is helpless to play in touchscreen device.

Yeah this feature is completely useless, nothing bad in removing it.
However, like others are saying, it would be nice to replace it with official controller support. It's currently possible very nicely with mods such as Controlify.
Honestly the best thing to do might be to just hire that guy to implement the mod into the game.

There are some enthusiasts who might want to port Java to Android; however, this use case is extremely rare.
Considering that most players use PCs or laptops, this feature is largely outdated.
Maintaining it may not be justified, so it could be removed. Modders can reintroduce it if necessary.

I think it's fine if touchscreen mode is removed, asJava is primarily a PC game. It doesn't make sense to dedicate precious development time to touchscreen controls when dedicated controller support would be more useful to the player-base.
