Gamepass Requirement Should Be Illegal

I have been an on and off player of Minecraft for roughly 15 years now. I love the game and hate to have a concern like this to bring forward. I originally played Minecraft on PC, but have had issues with my computer and have been playing on my Xbox instead. Despite the fact that I have already purchased Minecraft for my PC, I wasn’t able to use that account to play on my Xbox. It wasn’t an issue at first as I had the highest level of gamepass subscription and could download Minecraft using that. However, I recently canceled my gamepass sub as I don’t typically play a large quantity of games and the recent price increase was not at all worth the money for me. Last night, I wanted to download Minecraft again and decided to pay the $20 to purchase the game on my Xbox since I know I will come back to the game often. I found out after paying for and downloading the game that I am required to have a gamepass subscription to play multiplayer. I would like to make clear how disappointing this is to me as a long-time player and someone with common sense. No other game that I have played requires this and it truly shows how greedy Microsoft has allowed themselves to become. I will spare the fake niceties as I’m sure this comment won’t amount to any type of change. You should be ashamed of yourselves and whoever is reading this should strongly reconsider working for and giving their time to a company that would do something like this.
