Ocean, ships, pirates and all update

This is a serious problem that has been bugging me since forever . Why does minecraft feel like it has no ocean , no continents, just a bunch of land masses and rivers to seperate them . One more problem i have is the lack of things in the ocean . Why can’t there be more dangers, why not add ships, whales , pillager pirates, make the ocean big and expansive! We have sunken ships why cant we have actual ships ??? I just want there to feel like there's a world out there and not just hundreds of land masses divided by rivers big and small .
