With the upcoming transition to Vulkan for "Vibrant Visuals," I am requesting that Mojang maintains a permanent, automatic fallback to the OpenGL backend for users on legacy hardware.
Many players utilize integrated graphics, such as the Intel HD 4000 series, which do not have Vulkan support in their official Windows drivers. While the 26.2 snapshots currently include a fallback, it is vital that this remains a permanent feature. If the OpenGL toggle or fallback is removed entirely in the future, millions of players will be unable to launch the game they purchased.
Proposed Solution: Instead of eventually removing the OpenGL code, please keep it as a permanent "Legacy Mode" or automatic hardware-detection fallback. This ensures Minecraft remains the most accessible game in the world, allowing older laptops to continue running the game even if they cannot support the newer "Vibrant Visuals" features.
