One of the current problems with Minecraft is that most of the content is all late game. Sure, we got copper armor, but that was kinda trash. Here are my ideas for more early-early midgame content:
Structures:
Shed: appears in plains and forest biomes. small broken wooden room that can have a crafting table, smithing table, stone cutter, and/ or anvil (the anvil would be rarest). It would also have a chest that could contain iron or copper tools, bread, any seeds, stone, wood, or iron ingots.
Hideaway: Small, abandoned stone bomb shelter covered in leaf litter that could have 1-3 rooms. possible rooms are main room/entrance (bookshelf, couches made of stairs, shelf), Kitchen (food chests and smokers), bedroom (beds), lab (sulfur, redstone, potions, brewing tands, etc.), equipment room (equipment). Mobs can spawn. maybe a flooded variant would be cool too.
Dock: A dock with a fishing hut that can have fish, possibly a fishing rod.
Mobs (btw make building mob defenses a good idea, maybe buff door breaking):
Wraith: A ghost that can walk on water, levitate, but not pass through walls. They will only levitate if they cant reach you because you are too high above them.
Lizardman: A faster, stronger, lizard variant of the zombie usually equipped with armor and/or weapons. They also jump decently high and far.
Snake: A serpent about as big as a green anaconda. inflicts poison.
Burrower: Monster that can burrow into dirt and stone.
