Here is my suggestion for improving sulfur springs. Prismatic Sulfur Springs would generate on the surface above sulfur caves. They would be a rare and more eye-catching version of springs.
Why? In real life: Sulfur springs can form thermal pools which display a rainbow-like prism of colors due to red bacteria in the water, yellow sulfur and mineral deposits, and deep blue water caused by high temperatures. This is an opportunity to celebrate a natural wonder in the game. The most well known thermal pool on Earth that displays this colorful effect is the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park.
How? In Minecraft: Cinnabar, sulfur, and prismarine could create this rainbow effect by using blocks in-game that give players the opportunity to explore and discover sulfur caves from the surface in a fun and exciting way. Prismarine would be a reference to the springs in Yellowstone AND the texture looks like it is changing color due to the heat fluctuating in the water just like real life...
It would not need to be a "biome" but could generate with structure blocks like regular sulfur springs.
This idea reminds me of the creative and charming way that the badlands biome generates with the colorful terracotta blocks.
