When you domesticate cats and wolves, you always leave them sitting when you don't need them. But when you leave them sitting like that, the two mobs are just living ornaments. I felt bad for them to be wasted like this. They can do their own unique things and seeing them can entertain players. When you don't want them to follow you, if all the player can do is just sit them down, you can't expect that kind of joy. When they follow players, they seem to focus only on following the players, and observing their behavior is no fun at all. If they can freely live their lives with their own purpose when they're not following the players, their behavior then will give the players a more unique experience. What if you feed them certain foods like golden dandelions, and they don't follow the player and instead allow them to behave freely? For example, copper dandelions could be the option. I think it would be best to make new food, but if you don't think that's appropriate, you might consider using rare foods like bunny stew. It is also recommended not to allow them to go beyond a certain range of places where the food was eaten. There is a case of happy ghasts, so it won't be impossible.
