Cinnabar should be able to be smelted (or something similar) for mercury which can be used in a bucket to place like water (toxic water) and maybe placed on Items to poison them for a few hits, or a shot per arrow. and some decorative blocks for the cinnabar itself like they do in China, and apparently a few other places.
