In addition to functionality with blocks like cacti, TNT, amethyst, redstone, slime, and honey that I’ve already seen suggested, here are some more I found myself wanting while playing the preview. A lot of these come down to the blocks just maintaining the functions they have in their regular block forms.
- It would be so great to feed a frog light (or other lighting block) to a sulfur cube and then be able to bounce it through a cave as an actual light source (technical limitations may make this unlikely but I still have to ask for it).
- Leaf blocks could be extremely floaty as if they’re being blown around by the wind and lifted into the air.
- Ice could float and bob on top of water, making for treacherous shifting paths to hop along on top of.
- Sponge blocks could absorb water (only once, like a normal sponge, and then have to be dried again).
- Magma blocks could deal damage.
- Grass and mycelium blocks could have a chance of spreading when on dirt.
- The same way that an absorbed redstone block could power a redstone line, an absorbed redstone lamp could be lit up by powered redstone.
