VoidClam (Fabric, Java 1.21.x) — server-side mod; this feedback is the design, not a request to ship the mod as-is.
CONCEPT: A Deep Dark–style threat that complements the Warden: Wardens punish noise; "void clams" punish reliance on light. The creature is made of blocks (heart core, tissue paths, hardened shell), not one mob hitbox — mining and building against spreading terrain.
BEHAVIOR: Pathfinds toward light sources (food/energy) and ores (material). Emergent play: routing can hint at nearby ore at the cost of destruction. Eating lights leaves darkness — fewer torches means more hostile spawns in caves.
VANILLA CLIENTS: Server-only, no custom block registry — vanilla block IDs + effects so unmodded players can join. An official implementation could use dedicated blocks + client rendering for lower server cost.
