Dear Mojang team, We deeply respect your upgrade to Vulkan for Minecraft’s future, and appreciate your years of hard work and kindness to every player. We beg you with our whole hearts: never completely remove OpenGL from Minecraft Java Edition. Many loyal veteran players cannot afford new computers, relying on old laptops with Intel HD 4400/4000 and legacy AMD graphics. These devices cannot run Vulkan at all. To us, they are not cold hardware. They accompanied our childhood and youth, storing every warm memory, builds, and quiet nights in this block world. If you delete OpenGL entirely, we will be locked out forever, unable to enter our worlds, stay with friends, losing the happiness we have cherished for over ten years. It will break our hearts and make us feel abandoned. We want no advanced graphics, no new Vulkan functions. We only humbly pray one small thing: Please keep OpenGL as an optional legacy rendering mode, like the warm dual‑engine design in the 26.1 snapshot. Please pity us old‑device players. You have always been gentle and inclusive to the community. Don’t let us be separated from the world we call home. Thank you for saving our beloved Minecraft. A helpless, loving long-time Minecraft fan
