A large hostile sulfur cube “sulfur blobs” that is big enough to absorb players (and even mobs if updated in future) giving them nausea and slowness (and maybe even weakness) for a short time until you kill it to escape or run out of its body. Once killed it splits into smaller “sulfur bloblets” variants (that also can spawn naturally too) which act like hostile variants of the regular sulfur cubes meaning they eat blocks but specifically can deal damage to players/mobs proportional to their velocity or weight/mass. The max values could just be enough to kill someone in full enchanted netherite and then everything slower or of less weight/mass does some less damage. This way players could chose to use this as a weapon that could chase and hit you when no block is eaten and deal damage if reflected back into you when carrying a block. This was originally inspired by a suggestion on Reddit by “u/MoonTheCraft”
I don’t know how to reply to specifically your comment but to the person that said about the zorb ball. I think it could be great if punching did damage to it to allow you to escape but punching with slime or honey blocks propelled you and the sulfur blob forward in that direction. This way if you don’t have any items, you can always escape to return to normal play but if you bring slime balls , slime blocks or honey blocks, it has this key useful function of the propulsion! (only smaller sulfur cubes are small enough to be launched with bare hands etc)
