Garlic can be found in villages. You can cut it and make cooked onion rings. Vampires are found in Churches of the Anathema, a new type of structure. They are not found during the day or in sunlight and can be killed in daylight by hitting them with a magic dust sword or garlic. When you kill a vampire, you can use its cloak to see in the dark.
