(I know curing zombie piglins is a popular request but I don't see many people asking for this functionality.)
Piglins are violent, but that's what the Nether made them. But what if we could put their violent lifestyle to positive use?
If we could cure the zombie Piglins in the Overworld, they wouldn't have to be on edge and hostile all the time.
Once cured, piglins could become friendly Overworld NPCs. They’ll claim beds and follow a villager-like schedule but nocturnal instead of diurnal. Waking up when the villager work hours end and going to sleep when the villager work hours begin. So they'll still be able to socialize with the villagers in the morning and evening
Instead of picking up a profession, piglins would act as protectors. Being nocturnal, they’d patrol at night and attack hostile mobs that spawn, like iron golems. If they get hurt they can heal with food given to them by the player or other villagers, and will equip armor and weapons players toss in front of them them.
During the day, they’d sleep in beds claimed by villagers, so there's no need for extra beds.
They still barter, but they won't want gold anymore. Now that they know iron exists that will be what they want now.
If cured in the Nether, they’d just become regular piglins and will attack if you're not wearing gold. But if you are wearing gold they'll give you a bunch of barter items as thanks.
In short: Add a way to cure zombie piglins to create a new protector NPC and an iron-based bartering system.
