Some additional ideas I have had:
    1) If they also add something like bat guano (which might collect under bats when they land, similar to snow layers), we should be able to combine that, sulphur and charcoal to craft gunpowder as an alternative to creeper farming (allowing renewable gunpowder in peaceful)
    2) This drop is probably as good a time as ever to finally make an alternative to TNT duping, for which i suggest either A)the sulphur cube should be able to repeatably explode when holding a tnt block (which it should survive doing), or B) the sulphur cube should be able to renewably create sand somehow, either by "drying" dirt or clay (likely by holding a sponge) OR by abrading certain blocks when it slides across or against them (by holding some sort of abrasive or very hard block, perhaps obsidian or diamond?) so that tnt can be renewably crafted without unreliable wantering traders.
    4) sulphur should be made renewable either with the sulphur bubbles somehow or perhaps when a frog eats a sulphur cube.
    5) Sulphur and Cinnabar should be usable for crafting potions, either as alternatives to existing ingredients or for new ones due to their long history of use in irl alchemy. Possibly Nausea (stink from sulphur) or poison (mercury poisoning from cinnabar).

They should add 2 additional biomes with this:
    1) Ocean abyss with sulphur vents and maybe some new mobs to live around them, with these being a deep ocean sort of biome in the same way cave biomes occur below land biomes, and
    2) Caldera Mountains where sulphur and cinnabar occur high up in mountains, which should also indicate the presence of sulphur caves below and have lots of sulpher bubbles and more frequent lava pools and higher lava aquifers that are oriented vertically rather than the usual aproximately horizontal layout (small "top" but running very deep) to represent a volcanically active area. It could also be fun to include "kimberlite pipes" in such biomes, which would be hazardout vertical formations with lots of lava and obsidian but an unusually high concentration of diamonds all the way to the surface.

The Collision box sounds like the best idea so far. This would make sense and allow for Zelda-like gameplay in some adventure maps.
