would like to suggest an improvement for the off-hand system, especially for mobile (touch) players and those using mouse & keyboard on Bedrock Edition.
For touch players, there should be a dedicated on-screen button to switch items between main hand and off-hand, similar to the “F key” in Java Edition. This button would allow players to quickly swap items into the off-hand without opening inventory.
For using the off-hand item, the same interaction button (currently used for placing blocks or using items) can be used, just like right-click in Java Edition. If the player does not want to use the off-hand item, they can sneak to avoid triggering it.
For players using mouse and keyboard on mobile, the system should match Java Edition:
Press F to swap items between hands
Use right-click to use off-hand items
Use CTRL (sneak) to avoid using the off-hand item when needed
This system will make combat, building, and utility much smoother and more consistent across platforms. It will also bring Bedrock closer to Java parity while keeping controls simple for touch users.
