I noticed an incredible detail on the new "Chiseled Cinnabar" block: it clearly features a beetle's face! This suggests that the upcoming Sulfur Caves are the perfect habitat for the Cinnabar Beetle, a mob inspired by the Minecraft Legends model and the real-life Bombardier Beetle. These creatures live in a "vertical world," clinging to cinnabar beams and pillars while perfectly camouflaged. When an unsuspecting player passes underneath, the beetle launches a chemical spray that deals burning damage and massive knockback. They are also proficient swimmers in the toxic sulfur pools.
Players can tame this giant using Spider Eyes. Once tamed, you just need to equip a saddle to gain the ultimate vertical mount. While slow on flat ground, its true strength lies in climbing vertical surfaces with fluid animations (the way spiders should be!) and gliding through the air when jumping from heights. To keep it balanced, the player cannot manually trigger the attack; the beetle will only fire its spray as an automatic defense if it or its rider takes damage from a mob. It’s the perfect way to merge the new blocks with a much-needed new form of exploration!
