To diversify the generation of the sulfur caves and make them feel more unique, the cinnabar walls and floor should have a chance of spawning mercury pools/deposits wich a new effect called intoxication to mobs, this effect causes weakness, damage and negates saturation, you can pick the mercury with a bucket and use it with copper to create a barometer, this makes senses since cinnabar is where the mercury is extracted from.
To continue expanding the concept of cinnabar, a unique hostile mob should be added to the biome, the Red-Bone. This would be a reddish skeleton covered in cinnabar dust (referencing some how ancient cultures tend to bury their dead alongside a layer of cinnabar dust), it will only punch, but deal nausea as a side effect, when killed a cloud of dust with the effect of intoxication will appear, it will drop cinnabar dusted bones and random raw ores or nuggets, this drop will add a little bit of lore since it could be interpreted as the skeleton was a important figure buried alongside its wealth in the surrondings of the caves.
This is proposed with the intention of making the sulfur caves more challenging and appealing to a larger player base.
