Sulfur caves look very atmospheric and potentially dangerous, but currently they don’t fully feel hazardous in gameplay.
Instead of adding direct damage or strong negative effects, it could be more immersive if the danger was shown through environmental behavior.
For example:
- Passive and hostile mobs would avoid or quickly leave the biome, making it feel unnatural and unsafe
- The strong sulfur smell could interfere with the Warden’s tracking ability, making it harder for it to locate targets in this biome
- The Sulfur Cube would remain unaffected, reinforcing that it is adapted to this environment
This approach would:
- Keep Minecraft’s simple and non-frustrating gameplay
- Add immersion without forcing constant damage on the player
- Create a unique and strategic biome without breaking the game’s style
This way, players would feel that the biome is dangerous, instead of just being told through damage effects.
