The sulfur slime idea is very interesting, but I think its full potential wasn’t explored.
I’d like to propose an expansion based on ideas I’ve seen in the community: it would be really interesting if the sulfur slime exploded when near the player.
Here’s how it would work:
The sulfur slime would appear as a passive mob when you are looking at it—it wouldn’t attack. However, when you turn your back, it would approach you and start inflating like a bubble, about to explode. When players hear the inflating sound, they should quickly turn around and hit it, causing it to bounce away like a ball and explode at a safe distance, since in its inflated state it becomes “bouncy.”
When it explodes, it wouldn’t damage terrain, only deal minor damage to the player, and release a cloud of sulfur smoke that applies a nausea effect. It would also split into three small slimes that do not explode.
To make it affect blocks when exploding, the player would need to make it swallow a TNT block and ignite it like a creeper. After that, they would have to hit it quickly so the slime bounces away and the TNT explodes at a distance.
