I’m excited about the new Sulfur Caves biome, the Sulfur Cube mob, and the sulfur & cinnabar block families in Chaos Cubed.
Before release, I’d love to see sulfur bricks and cinnabar bricks added to the trim_materials tag.
Why?
-
Сonsistent. Resin Brick (from The Garden Awakens) is a trim material. Sulfur and Cinnabar are also processed bricks – adding them follows the same logic and gives players more color options.
-
Easy to implement. Just add two item IDs to the existing
trim_materialstag. No new textures or mechanics are needed. -
New colors = more creativity. Sulfur Bricks would give a bright, warm yellow (similar to gold but with a different hue), and Cinnabar Bricks would offer a deep, rich red (similar to redstone but with a different hue). These would be very welcome for players who want more variety in armor decoration.
-
Feedback works. Resin bricks were added to trims after community feedback – Mojang listens.
-
A unified ore‑mineral processing chain
If the game doesn't add separate sulfur/cinnabar ore blocks (and we mine sulfur/cinnabar blocks directly in the Sulfur Caves), I propose:
-
Mine a Sulfur or Cinnabar Block.
-
Break it down — 1 block → 9 raw sulfur/cinnabar (same as raw iron/gold/copper blocks).
-
Smelt — 1 raw sulfur/cinnabar → 1 sulfur/cinnabar brick (item).
-
Craft the decorative block — 4 sulfur/cinnabar brick (item) → Sulfur/Cinnabar Bricks (block).
-
- This mirrors metal‑ore processing, gives us brick items for armor trims.
