I’ve already made a post about some ideas I have for this drop, but there wasn’t enough space for me to list everything… I’m not sure if the developers will look at this, but I thought I should post anyway.
I left off in my last post talking about sulfur powder. It could be obtained by the sulfur block shown in Minecraft Live or from some new block underwater, but if sulfuric acid as its own liquid won’t be added, I think that the powder should be obtained through the current sulfur block with a copper brush, similar to suspicious dirt and gravel, but I also think that the powder should be able to grow back, like how amethyst grows on its buds. Or, if you can’t add regenerating suspicious blocks, you could just add sulfur crystals that stick out underwater on the block that you mine which grow back, which gets rid of the need for the brush! I think that sulfur powder could be used for a lot of things, like as a substitute for sand in the TNT recipe or for a new TNT recipe altogether, a more powerful fertilizer when combined with bonemeal in the crafting table, a new armor trim, or even as a potion ingredient, which could maybe be used for a new potion effect or enhancement, like how redstone and glowstone dust are currently used. There’s probably some redstone use for it too, but the sulfur cube may have that covered if it can be used a moving redstone block. Maybe the sulfur cube could also be used as a projectile if you launch it with TNT inside!
