Dear Mojang / Minecraft Team,
I am a Minecraft player from India and I would like to share feedback regarding regional pricing for Minecraft. Currently Minecraft Java & Bedrock Edition costs around ₹2600 in India. While I understand the global price is $29.99 USD, direct currency conversion makes the game quite expensive in regions with lower purchasing power.
In India, many students and young gamers love Minecraft and actively watch content, play on servers, and participate in the community. However, the current price can be a barrier for many players who genuinely want to purchase the game legitimately.
At this price point, players can sometimes buy major AAA games like Grand Theft Auto V or The Witcher 3 during sales, which influences purchasing decisions.
A good example of effective regional pricing comes from Clash of Clans by Supercell. After adjusting regional prices, the Gold Pass became much more accessible for players in countries like India.
Minecraft is a global game loved by millions across many regions such as India, Southeast Asia, and South America. More balanced regional pricing could make the game accessible to more players and encourage legitimate purchases.
Thank you for your time and for creating such an incredible game.
