Leaning Crystal Spires

Inspired by a mod, I have craved to see crystals in minecraft. We have the Amethyst, but why not more? Crystals stretching diagonally across caverns, shooting out of the walls, and why not... the ground? Why not add crystal spires to the forest Biomes? I feel these would be at home in the Dark Oak, and Birch Forest biomes. Especially if the birch gets taller. I propose a tall leaning crystal or crystals to spawn rarely within the forests. These could be of Ruined Nether Portal Rarity. They do not need a real function, but could serve a purpose in later updates. I feel purple would be a nice color, but amethyst is purple so maybe other colors, or random colors could be chosen. It could be a Crystal form of Lapis Lazuli.
