Currently, the Ocean Monuments aren't as exciting as they were before, as the newer items start to make things easier for it, such as the Conduit and the Trident, and when you do beat one, the reward isn't that worth it in the long run. This is what I think:
- The Guardians and the Elder Guardians should inflict damage that surpasses armor and the Protection enchantment, so all damage he Guardians deal is immediately accounted towards your health.
- The laser beam's damage only gives 0.33 (~7 ticks) seconds of invulnerability instead of 0.5 (10 ticks) seconds like the rest.
- Guardian damage along with the new invulnerability period should be: Guardian - 1 damage (NORMAL) / Elder Guardian - 2 damage (NORMAL). Note that this damage happens every 0.33 seconds.
- Guardian spike damage upon contact / hit: Guardian - 1.5 damage (NORMAL) / Elder Guardian - 3 damage (NORMAL)
- The Elder Guardian should inflict an effect alongside Mining Fatigue: Conduit Fail III, which reduces the effects of Conduit Power by 90% and Water Breathing from both the effect itself and from Conduit Power goes on and off in intervals of 20 seconds.
- The reward for defeating an Ocean Monument is a chest encased in the gold block area. This chest should have at least these things: Heart of the Sea, Trident with Loyalty II-III, Impaling II-IV, or Channeling, 2-8 Diamonds, 7-12 Iron / Gold Ingots, and a Turtle Shell or Iron Helmet with Respiration II-III and / or Aqua Affinity.
