Since the wild update is coming out, I feel that trees overall could use a little bit of touching up. For example, there are a few designs for say an oak tree but overall it looks the same besides the occasional big tree. Instead of the big tree, why not rework the tree design as a whole and more! Mojang reworked the world generation terrain wise and now it's time for the tree and the wild update is perfect for it.
Let's move on a bit more into detail on what I mean. In the Nether, the warped and crimson fungus trees have a LOT of variety. The stems are all over the place and the "leaves" have various formations. This is what I mean by tree variation. This can also go for all types of trees as well not just oak. Trees can become a bit bigger, taller, and wider.
There can still be small variants of course but when you walk in the forest, it shouldn't look like the same size everywhere. This could also introduce 3x3 and even 4x4 sapling growth formations as well! On a bonus note, tree growth could also be biome-dependent if that is possible. For example, an oak tree in a forest may look different from an oak tree in a swamp. This would apply to saplings too.
In conclusion or tl;dr: Trees could use a bit of touching up with a variety of designs, potential biome dependency, and overall new aesthetic forests.
