    The Java-Version tries to start on Steam Deck, but in Game-Mode the MS-Requester for logging in isn't acessible. On the SteamOS Desktop the Minecraft-Launcher shows his "cleaning up"-Message and terminates after a while. I think, the problem is located in SteamOS, because it's no Problem, to run Minecraft-Launcher and Minecraft on my Linux-Workstation/Laptop.

    (I'm not interested in Bedrock-Edition.)

    No reason to cut corners and only add one; the goal I propose is to have simple and fast access to both out of the box just like the Switch.

    Switch doesn't have both Java and Bedrock. It has Bedrock and the long-obsolete console edition that preceded Bedrock.

    Yes, official support for at least Java edition on the steam deck would be much appreciated.

    Java already works fine, but there is no way to play bedrock on Deck at all. Not even unofficially
