Randomly generated structures in the game are way too easy to find. Villages alone are stupidly common; every single biome area will probably have at least one. Shipwrecks don't just exist in oceans, they populate oceans. You're bound to find at least two or three shipwrecks in a given body of water, and it doesn't help that they normally have OP loot already in there; you can get 10+ iron ingots and maybe even diamonds before you even get your first stone pickaxe if you're lucky. Sorry, but that just is not good game design.
I suggest making structures rarer. The rarer they are, the more special they will become when you do find them. The world should be mostly comprised of complete wilderness, just sprinkled with structures. I'm not suggesting to make, for example, desert temples as rare as woodland mansions, but rare enough to where you can't find them within the first 3 minutes of your desert survival world.
