Since archeology is coming to minecraft someday, we might as well have palientology as well. Fossil blocks could spawn in a 1-3 vein and would be as rare as diamonds. Maybe there could be a excavation table and you could take these fossil blocks and excavate them and get a random items such as totems, ores, bones, and different types of stone. Very rarely, you could possibly get 3 different types of fossils. That being the skull fossil, the tusk fossil, and the exoskeleton fossil. When you excavate the exoskeleton fossil, You could revive a skeleton, stray, and rarest of all, a sea scorpion. They'd be passive and you could feed it bone meal to tame it and can be bucketed. When you excavate the tusk fossil, you could get a hoglin or a wooly mammoth. The wooly mammoth would be neutral and you could feed it golden apples to tame it. It would be rideable, you could put chests on it, and you could put horse armor on it, it would also fight mobs for you and would be similiar to a wolf. And finaly, if you excavated the skull fossil, you could get any mob with a solid head except for slimes, magma cubes, ghasts, blazes, golems, guardians, and boss mobs. You could also get the Allosaurus, a hostile reptilian monstrosity! It would attack wooly mammoths and players on sight from over 20 blocks away! You could slowly tame it by putting a saddle on it and it's taming method would be similiar to the overworld drake from the wyrmroost mod. After taming, you could put armor on it and chests.
