With the new 1.19 update coming to Minecraft, It would only make sense to give life to the new Stony and frozen peaks, as well as the snowy slopes, given their lack of unique mobs... who's to say the most fitting mob wouldn't be a dwarf?
In these new mountain biomes, It should be rare (say a 1/75 chance) to find a medium-sized cave-in within the mountains, which is filled in with a small village, small homes being made of stone bricks and Copper blocks. the dwarves themselves would be vigorous, white haired ancestors of the humble, unambitious Villagers, who are 1.5 blocks tall and will happily whistle and dance when out to work, mining the biome around them in search of ores, but will bring care to the mountain by placing back stone where they got it. they have a similar system to trading, but instead of just giving you a GUI to automatically trade, they will tell you what you can get for certain Items, giving you a sort of "catalog". They will trade stuff such as raw mutton and enchanted gold tools and armor for the price of Copper and Iron, something they are very fond of.
Within these "mountain settlements" also live Dwarf sentinels, Elder dwarves who have 24 HP, wear Iron armor and carry swords and shields. If a player kills a Dwarf, they will chase the player with pure rage, and will refuse to give mercy (in short, they're hostile after a Dwarf dies).
Overall, by adding dwarves to Minecraft, these biomes could have a bit more life... not to mention It'd be plain cool.
