Easier way to create Desktop Icon in new launcher

I am a relatively advanced computer user and have had to search online for an unofficial tutorial on how to create a desktop icon for the new launcher! Previously there was the option to create a desktop icon during installation, and it was also easily done at any time.

If it has to be that way because of the Microsoft store, the tutorial should be made available and signposted by Mojang during the installation process.
