since the wardens have developed a sense of smell, I think that you should be able to use cake as a diversion. basically the warden will head towards the cake and slowly eat it, if it can’t pathfind to the cake, it will ignore it. If mob griefing is off, the warden will not head towards any cake, but will instead be unable to smell you.
