The new mountains need a new structure, or else they have little incentive to explore them other than for emeralds. Here is my proposal.
Monasteries spawning in each mountain biome. They work like villages, in that there are regional variants for the type of mountain biome they are in, and a 'corrupted' version of each variant, similar to zombie villages. Normal monasteries would have cleric and librarian villagers with iron and snow golem defences, the corrupted ones would have illagers in them.
The three types:
- A sprawling one. This would be focused more on defense, with some small walls and being tucked away and less vulnerable to the elements. This would be called the Keep Monastery.
- A tall one (several tall towers like outposts connected with walled corridors with gardens in the centre). This one would be called the Observation Monastery as it can see many things from its height.
-One that is a combination, with a large tower but several rooms and gardens/farms on the ground. This would involve a library as well with some enchanted books in chests. This would be the Enlightenment monastery.
Corrupted monasteries would have been run down and all gardens, libraries in them would be partly destroyed.
In terms of loot, normal monasteries would be similar to villages, and corrupted ones would be similar to mansions. It is possible the new disc could be an exclusive find to these monasteries, similar to Pigstep.
