Piglins appear to be a civilization heavily built on the hunting of hoglins, as they are frequently observed hunting them in crimson forests. However, this hunting appears more like random poaching as nothing is done with the drops of the hoglins after being killed by piglins. I believe that piglins could be smarter with both of the drops of hoglins: raw porkchop and leather. In the case of the raw porkchop, they will occasionally eat some if they are not at fully health already and are not currently in combat with a player or other mob, which will grant them 10 seconds of regeneration. If a furnace is nearby, they will approach the furnace and "cook" the raw porkchop, which will just convert all raw porkchop they may have in their inventories into cooked. When they eat cooked porkchops, they will instead gain 20 seconds of regeneration. In the case of leather, piglins will craft themselves leather armor pieces to wear, starting with the least expensive armor pieces and working their way up to the most leather demanding piece, the tunic. They do not require a crafting table to do this, as it is a technique they've mastered through generations of hunting. If the piglin is already wearing a piece of gold armor, it will not replace the existing gold armor with new leather armor, instead just working to create leather armor for the parts of its body that are not armored at all.
