The undead category of mobs has a wide variety of creatures, including Zombified Piglins and Zoglins. The Piglin Brute only turns into a regular piglin with an axe. so I propose a new type of zombified variant.
The Zombified Brute would spawn rarely by itself (or with other zombie piglins) in the Nether Waste biome, slowly roaming. It’s a slightly larger brute missing it’s arm with the golden “shield.” It can spawn if a brute is to enter the overworld too.
The Brute is slower than a regular piglin brute and neutral, but will slowly become more irritated if you’re in a ten block radius of it. After one warning sign, a loud grotesque squeal, it’ll begin chasing you down (It gives you fifteen seconds). It also attacks if attacked or if other zombie piglins are attacked. It’s slightly stronger than a normal brute, at the cost of being slower, and would be a challenge to bring down. They also have the distinction of being fast swimmers in lava, meaning it can chase you down if you ever get into such a scenario. Upon death, it’ll drop a large amount of XP and a well enchanted golden axe, or fair amounts of golden nuggets and rotten flesh. Something to note is that Zombified Brutes have the same territorial behavior towards piglin and piglin brutes, but not towards hoglins.
The Zombified Brute could bring some more challenge to traversing the nether, while still giving the player warning signs and not being too overly powerful, and could add some nice variety to the nether mobs.
