what, they breed if your noteblocks can make a barry white song?

I'll put my real comment elsewhere just in case anyone has issues with my light opener

Ok, so, if you read the tweets on this from Ulraf and kingbdogz, you'll notice that they said something about the allay dropping the items on a certain block near the noteblock, e.g., northwest corner.  I think that one designated block would save a lot of lag but also it makes setting up each allay a little simplistic.  It also hampers the use of allays in tight spaces, a mob farm where there is a water cave on one or two sides.  Allowing the allay to pick a particular block at set up time would seem like the ideal solution to me.  Then you only need place the hopper there.

I will put each of these ideas in a separate proposal for voting on later

I agree that the noteblock should not be constantly active due to lag but I am wondering if the allay shouldn't play the note each time it make a drop.  I think that idea is what the devs had in mind.  They might have to drop it due to lag though.

Clipping really does sound like a good idea to be able to reduce pathfinding decisions and also reduce the need for droppers or dispensers to output the items that need sorting. as they could be left in the drop chamber by the use of sorting filters

For tunes, the issue then remains of how to get a proper order.  That would seem to be down to the distance from the noteblock.

Apparently allays will collect the given item until you remove it.
