With the mountains now being introduced, I want to share the Wyvern mob concept. They are small dragon-like creatures that are neutral/hostile-like mobs that spawn in ruin castles on the mountain and have a 'nest' (new structure! Explained more in a separate post). When a player tries to approach them they would either fly away (kinda like ocelots) or if provoked will attack the player. If they become hostile they can breath fire, bite, or use its wings to fight back. Players are able to tame and ride the Wyverns across the sky (since we have horses we can ride on land, why not have a tamable pet you can mount to ride the sky?). They should be tamed with a unique or very rare item like enchanted golden apples. When tamed, a player can attach a saddle and armor to the Wyvern. They can come in different colors and behavioral traits (some are aggressive, some are more relaxed, etc.). A popular mod that showcase them in is the Mo' Creatures Mod which have fantastic models. The concept will likely be a successor of the Red Dragon idea the community keeps asking for as this opens up a lot of potential.
There should be some limitations however such as flight time and not being able to fight other entities for the owner if tamed, unless another player tries to attack it then it will defend itself.
