I'd love for more golems, and given the magical theme, I think new golems should be for automating farms, fishing, and lumber work as Quality of Life builds. This would make it so each golem was unique than just "another battle ally" and get rid of the serf vibe using villagers for farming (or expanding to fishermen based on some posts).

I love that the copper golem essentially had an upkeep mechanic so players would have to re-engage with it after a certain amount of time, something that could go forward with other golems as well. As an upkeep requirement in automation of systems, plus could give some very interesting statues. Also adding a mechanic that golems break down over time after being refreshed by an axe, would add more consumption of materials.

The Copper Golem's mechanic was a bit weak, players have randomized redstone signals with pressure plates and mobs before, and it's not a feature all players use with their play style. Everyone has to gather materials though, spend time planting and harvesting in a very repetitive cycle. Now to balance the may require some unique treasure loot from the deep dark or end, however, worth it in most players mind as a reward.
