Is it just me or does it seem likely that the deep dark cities are the new stronghold. Looking at the color scheme it really appears that the Warden and the Skulk blocks have a strong connection to the End dimension. Strongholds are made up of stone variants that no longer make sense now with the new deepslate variants. I would be lead to assume that possibly the Strongholds could lose the End portals but maybe hold a way to get to the Deep Dark City (Map or another item). If this is the case then the Deep Dark Cities could receive the End portals whilst the Strongholds contain some sort item that makes the deep dark more manageable to explore. I could see this Item possibly being a way to temporarily stun the warden but to balance out this feature it would probably need to last a short amount of time and make the Warden more sensitive to the player. I also believe that this Item would need to be powered by Eyes of Ender because of their complexity(for newer players) to get as well as their connection to the End. I also believe that the Strongholds could possibly stay at their 1.17 depths thus making finding them medium difficulty. I believe that Eyes of Ender could Gravitate to the Strongholds due to the presence of a ruined end portal that would mean that Strongholds were replaced as the home of End portals in favor of Deep Dark Cities.
