An idea for a new golem I have is called the Chest Golem!
The Chest Golem would be created by players, but in a special and unique way. The Chest Golem is summoned when the player places a chest when there's a lightning/thunderstorm, and if lightning strikes the chest, it summons a Chest Golem. (Doing this would be slower, but lightning rods would be a useful item to attract lightning).
The Chest Golem would follow it's creator, and it acts as a mobile storage system. If the player was mining and gets their inventory crowded with cobblestone, they can open the Chest Golem and store the items in it like a normal chest. However, the Chest Golem won't have the same amount of slots as a normal chest would have, but it would have a total of 5 slots and can store any item.
The Chest Golem would be scared if there are hostile mobs near it, and it would then turn itself into a normal chest to hide, and will come out of hiding when the hostile mob is gone. You could still access the golem in it's hiding state.
If the Chest Golem dies, the chest breaks and it drops all of the item's you stored in it, meaning you would have to sacrifice some things you have in your inventory if you had any important valuables stored in the golem.
This mob would be very useful as extra storage for junk items and/or when the player has a full inventory and is far from home. But it comes at a risk if you don't protect it.
